• This smoke detector is intended for indoor use only.
• Do not paint the smoke detector. Paint can clog the sensing chamber and prevent the alarm from operating correctly.

3. Persediaan dan Pemasangan

Lokasi Pemasangan

For optimal protection, install smoke detectors in:

• Every sleeping area and on every level of your home, including the basement.
• The center of the ceiling, if possible, at least 30 cm (12 inches) from any wall.
• Away from air vents, fans, or areas with high air circulation that could prevent smoke from reaching the detector.
• At least 1 meter (3 feet) from light fittings or decorative objects.

Langkah Pemasangan

2. Use the mounting plate as a template to mark the two drilling points on the ceiling.
3. Drill two holes at the marked points. Insert the wall plugs into the drilled holes.
4. Attach the mounting plate to the ceiling using the provided screws.
5. Align the smoke detector with the mounting plate and twist it clockwise until it clicks securely into place. This action will activate the detector.
6. Perform a test of the smoke detector immediately after installation (refer to Section 4.2).

4. Operasi

The smoke detector activates automatically when it is twisted onto its mounting plate. A small LED indicator light will flash periodically (e.g., every 45 seconds) to confirm it is functioning correctly.

4.2 Testing the Smoke Detector

It is crucial to test your smoke detector weekly to ensure it is operating correctly.

The ELRO Cavius Mini Smoke Detector features a sealed, non-replaceable battery designed to last for approximately 5 years. When the battery is nearing the end of its life, the detector will emit a short 'chirp' sound approximately every 45 seconds for at least 30 days. This indicates that the unit needs to be replaced. The battery is integrated and cannot be changed by the user. When the low battery warning sounds, the entire smoke detector unit must be replaced.
