Arahan Pemasangan
1. Persediaan
- Matikan kuasa: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse that supplies power to the outlet where you intend to install the GFCI. Turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a non-contact voltage penguji sebelum meneruskan.
- Remove old receptacle: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and unscrew the old receptacle from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires, noting their original connections if possible.
2. Wiring the GFCI Receptacle
The GFCI receptacle has two distinct sets of terminals: TALIAN dan MUAT. It is critically important to connect the incoming power wires to the TALIAN terminals. Connecting to the MUAT terminals when not intended for downstream protection will prevent the GFCI from functioning correctly and may leave the circuit unprotected. The GFCI is designed for back and side wiring connections.
- Kenal pasti wayar:
- Hot (Black or Red): This wire carries the electrical current from the circuit breaker.
- Neutral (White): This wire completes the electrical circuit back to the panel.
- Ground (Bare Copper or Green): This safety wire provides a path for fault current to safely dissipate.
- Wayar Jalur: If necessary, use a wire stripper to remove approximately 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) of insulation from the end of each wire.
- Sambungkan Wayar Tanah: Connect the bare copper or green insulated ground wire from the electrical box to the green ground screw on the GFCI receptacle. Tighten securely.
- Connect LINE Wires: Connect the incoming hot (black) wire to the brass TALIAN terminal and the incoming neutral (white) wire to the silver TALIAN terminal. Ensure connections are tight and secure.
- Connect LOAD Wires (Optional): If you intend to protect other downstream receptacles or devices on the same circuit, connect the hot (black) wire for downstream protection to the brass MUAT terminal dan neutral (white) wire for downstream protection to the silver MUAT terminal. WARNING: Do not connect LOAD wires if you are unsure or if you are not protecting additional outlets. Incorrect wiring can lead to unprotected circuits.

This view highlights the side wiring terminals and includes a blue "NOTICE" sticker indicating that the device is not intended for use in wet and damp locations as defined by 2008 NEC 406.8 requirements, reinforcing its indoor-only application.
3. Pemasangan dan Kemasan
- Position Wires: Carefully fold the connected wires into the electrical box, ensuring they are not pinched or damaged.
- Bekas Gunung: Secure the GFCI receptacle to the electrical box using the provided mounting screws. Ensure it is flush with the wall.
- Pasang Plat Dinding: Attach the color-matched standard size wall plate over the GFCI receptacle.
- Pulihkan Kuasa: Hidupkan semula kuasa pada pemutus litar atau kotak fius.
Arahan Operasi
Initial Power-Up and Self-Test
Upon initial power-up, the GFCI will automatically perform a self-test. The built-in indicator light(s) will illuminate briefly to confirm functionality. If the GFCI is unable to provide safe, protected power, it will deny power and prevent re-setting, indicating a potential issue or "end of life" condition.

Imej: Depan view of the Eaton TRSGF15W GFCI receptacle. This image clearly displays the two tamper-resistant duplex outlets, the prominent TEST button (left), and the RESET button (right). Small indicator lights are visible to the right of the RESET button, which provide status feedback.
TEST and RESET Buttons
- Butang UJIAN: To manually verify the GFCI's protection, press the UJIAN button. The GFCI should trip, cutting power to the outlets. The indicator light(s) may change state to signal the tripped condition.
- Butang TETAP SEMULA: Selepas menekan butang UJIAN butang, tekan TETAP SEMULA button to restore power. If the GFCI does not reset, refer to the Troubleshooting section for guidance.
The GFCI automatically performs self-tests periodically to ensure continuous ground fault protection. The built-in indicator lights provide quick notification of a tripped condition or an "end of life" status, where the device can no longer provide safe protection.
Penyelenggaraan
- Ujian Bulanan: It is recommended to test the GFCI monthly to ensure proper operation. Press the UJIAN butang, kemudian TETAP SEMULA button. If the GFCI fails to trip or reset, it indicates a malfunction, and the unit must be replaced immediately.
- Pembersihan: To clean the GFCI receptacle and wall plate, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the device or its finish.
- End of Life Indication: The GFCI is equipped with indicator lights that will signal an "end of life" condition. This means the device is no longer capable of providing ground fault protection. If this indication appears, the unit must be replaced immediately to maintain safety.
Menyelesaikan masalah
| Masalah | Kemungkinan Punca | Penyelesaian |
|---|---|---|
| GFCI will not reset after pressing the RESET button. |
|
|
| GFCI trips frequently without apparent reason. |
|
|
| Indicator light is off or flashing in an unusual pattern. |
