4. Arahan Operasi
Follow these steps to sharpen your chainsaw chain using the Oregon 31692 Filing Guide:
- Kedudukan yang File Panduan: Letakkan file guide over the cutter tooth to be sharpened. The lines on the file guide's frame should align parallel to the chainsaw bar, ensuring the correct filing angle. The file guide is designed to hold the file at the correct depth.
- Arahan Pemfailan: Sentiasa file from the inside of the cutter to the outside. This prevents dulling the chrome plating on the outside of the cutter and prolongs file kehidupan.
- Apply Even Strokes: Use smooth, even strokes, pushing the file across the cutter. Apply pressure only on the forward stroke. Lift the file off the tooth on the return stroke.
- Count Strokes: Count the number of strokes required to sharpen the first tooth until it is sharp and free of damage. This number will serve as a baseline for all other teeth to ensure consistent length.
- Sharpen All Teeth: Move to the next cutter tooth and repeat the process, using the same number of strokes. Sharpen all cutter teeth on one side of the chain, then rotate the chainsaw or reposition yourself to sharpen the teeth on the opposite side.
- Check Depth Gauges (Rakers): After sharpening all cutter teeth, inspect the depth gauges (also known as rakers or drags). These control the depth of cut. If the depth gauges are too high, the chain will not cut efficiently. Use a flat file and a depth gauge tool (not included in this kit, but recommended for comprehensive sharpening) to lower them to the appropriate height.
