6. Persediaan dan Pemasangan

The sensor can be installed in various outdoor locations. Choose a spot where it can receive direct sunlight for optimal solar charging and where it can accurately detect rain. Ensure the sensor is placed in a location that allows rainwater to accumulate on its detection surface.

  • On Outer Glass Window: Use the provided 3M double-sided tape to stick the sensor flat onto the outer glass window.
  • On Exterior Wall: Use the provided screw pack to securely install the sensor on an exterior wall.
  • On Windowsill/Patio/Balcony: The sensor can also be placed flat on a windowsill, patio, or balcony surface.

6.2 Pairing with Tuya Smart App (Zigbee Gateway Required)

This sensor requires a Zigbee gateway (not included) to connect to the Tuya Smart ecosystem. Follow these steps to pair your sensor:

  1. Ensure your Zigbee gateway is powered on and connected to the Tuya Smart app.
  2. Open the Tuya Smart app on your smartphone.
  3. Add a new device and select the Zigbee Rain Sensor (or similar category).
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to put the sensor into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing the reset button on the sensor for a short period (e.g., 5 seconds) until the orange LED indicator blinks.
  5. Once detected, confirm the device in the app and assign it to a room or group.

7. Arahan Operasi

7.1 Rain Detection

When rainwater accumulates on the sensor's PCB contact surface, it will detect the presence of rain. The sensor actively reports its status every 60 seconds. This information is sent to your Zigbee gateway and then to the Tuya Smart app.

  • Automated Actions: Link the rain sensor with other smart devices through the Tuya app to create automation scenarios. For example:

    • Trigger a smart lock to remind you to take an umbrella when leaving home.

7.2 Leak Detection (Indoor Use)

The sensor can also be used indoors to detect water leaks. To use it for leak detection, place the sensor upside down in areas prone to leaks, such as basements, laundry rooms, or under sinks. When water comes into contact with the sensor's surface, it will trigger an alert in the Tuya Smart app, similar to rain detection.

8. Penyelenggaraan

8.1 Power Management (Solar Charging)

The sensor is powered by a pre-installed 1.3V 1200mAh Ni-MH battery, which is continuously charged by the integrated solar panel. For optimal performance and battery life:

  • Ensure the solar panel receives direct sunlight for several hours daily.
  • If the battery level is low (indicated by the app or sensor behavior), place the sensor in direct sunlight for 1-2 days to fully recharge.
  • The battery is designed for long-term use and typically does not require replacement for over a year under normal conditions.

8.2 Pembersihan

    • Ensure the sensor is placed correctly for rain accumulation (outdoor) or water contact (indoor leak detection).
    • Verify the battery level in the Tuya Smart app. Recharge if necessary by exposing to direct sunlight.
  • Sensor not connecting to Tuya Smart app:
    • Ensure your Zigbee gateway is online and functioning correctly.
    • Bring the sensor closer to the Zigbee gateway during pairing.
    • Try resetting the sensor by pressing the reset pin for 5 seconds to restore factory settings, then attempt pairing again.
    • Check your Wi-Fi network and internet connection.
  • Automations not triggering:
    • Verify that the automation rules are correctly set up in the Tuya Smart app.
    • Ensure all linked devices (e.g., smart windows, alarms) are online and properly connected.
    • Check the sensor's status in the app to confirm it's reporting detection events.
