1. Pengenalan

The Retevis RM01 is a robust VHF Marine Radio Transceiver designed for reliable communication in marine environments. It features IP67 waterproofing, allowing it to float and withstand immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Equipped with NOAA weather channels, dual/tri-watch functions, and selectable power output, the RM01 ensures clear and safe communication for various water activities.

3.1 Pengenalan Komponen

3.2 Pemasangan Bateri

The RM01 uses 5 x 1.2V AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries. To install or replace batteries:

1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the transceiver.
2. Insert the 5 AAA NiMH batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

Caution: If using alkaline batteries, NEVER attempt to charge them, as this can damage the batteries and the radio.

3.3 Mengecas Bateri

The RM01 can be charged using the provided AC adaptor or car charger. Connect the charging cable to the Earphone/Charging/Programming Jack (12) on the radio and then to the appropriate power source.

Warning: Use only the dedicated charger provided. Do not charge mobile phones or other devices with this charger.

3.4 Lampiran Antena

Screw the antenna clockwise into the Antenna Connector (11) on the top of the transceiver until it is finger-tight.

3.5 Belt Clip and Lanyard Attachment

Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio for easy carrying. The lanyard can be attached to the designated loop for added security.

4. Arahan Operasi

4.1 Hidupkan/Mati Kuasa

Press and hold the Power Key (2) to turn the transceiver on or off.

4.2 Pemilihan Saluran

Use the Up/Down Keys (9) to navigate through available channels. The selected channel will be displayed on the LCD Display (10).

Instant Channel 16: Press the Channel 16/CALL key (3) for immediate access to Channel 16, the international distress, safety, and calling channel.

4.3 Pelarasan Kelantangan dan Squelch

Use the Volume/Squelch/Monitor Key (8) to adjust the audio volume or squelch level. Squelch helps to eliminate background noise when no signal is being received.

4.4 Pemilihan Kuasa Tinggi/Rendah

Press the High/Low Power/Lock Key (4) to toggle between 3W (High Power) for longer communication range and 1W (Low Power) for extended battery life.

4.5 Dual/Tri-Watch Function

The Dual/Tri-Watch function allows you to monitor Channel 16 along with other selected channels. This ensures you can communicate while still receiving important safety broadcasts.

• Jam Tangan Dual: Monitors the current channel and Channel 16 alternately.
• Tri Watch: Monitors the current channel, Channel 16, and a Call Channel alternately.

4.6 Saluran Cuaca NOAA

The RM01 supports NOAA's National Weather Service and can scan 10 NOAA radio channels. Activate weather alerts to receive automatic warnings from designated NOAA broadcast stations.

4.7 Kunci Pad Kekunci

Press and hold the High/Low Power/Lock Key (4) to lock or unlock the keypad, preventing accidental changes to settings.

4.8 Vibration Draining

After immersion in water, the RM01 features a vibration draining function to expel water from the speaker microphone, preventing circuit damage. This function activates automatically or can be manually triggered (refer to the full user manual for specific steps if manual activation is needed).

5.1 Pembersihan

5.2 Penjagaan Kalis Air

Although the RM01 is IP67 waterproof, it is recommended to dry the radio thoroughly after it has been exposed to water, especially around the charging port and speaker/microphone areas, to prevent long-term corrosion or damage.

5.3 Penjagaan Bateri

Always use the provided NiMH rechargeable batteries. Avoid overcharging or completely discharging the batteries. Store the radio and batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

• The RM01 is designed for marine use and comes with pre-installed marine channels, including Channel 16, 72, and 73, supporting USA, International, and Canadian channel groups.
• Expect a communication range of approximately 2.6 Nautical Miles (5 km) in open sea areas. In urban environments, the range may be around 2.8 km, depending on obstructions.
• Always ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when near water to maintain the IP67 waterproof rating.
• Utilize the selectable 3W/1W power output: 3W for maximum range when needed, and 1W to conserve battery life during shorter-range communications.
