On most GOLFBUDDY laser rangefinders, press and hold the Mode button for approximately 3 seconds to toggle between meters (M) and yards (Y).
Check the battery level. If using a CR2 battery model, ensure the protective film on the battery cap has been removed. For rechargeable models, confirm the device is charged using the recommended 5V, 2A adapter.
