5. Operating Notes and Performance Considerations

  • Voltage Extremes: Avoid operating the converter at the absolute highest or lowest input and output voltage limits simultaneously for prolonged periods.
  • Operating Current Calculation: The operating current must not exceed the maximum input current of 20A. Calculate the operating current using the formula:

If the load is 48V 7A: (48V * 7A) / (15V * 0.94) = 336W / 14.1V ≈ 23.83A. This exceeds the 20A input limit, so it cannot be used.
  • Kecekapan: Efficiency is highest when the difference between input and output voltage is small. A larger voltage difference results in lower efficiency. For instance, with a 20V input and 120V output, efficiency will be at its lowest, potentially below 90%. Ensure the input power source can supply at least 1.5 times the required load power.
