1. Pengenalan

2. Maklumat Keselamatan

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the device. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or damage to the device or other equipment.

  • Always ensure the capacitor under test is fully discharged before connecting the MESR-100. Residual charge can damage the meter or cause injury.
  • Do not use the device in wet environments or near flammable gases or dust.
  • Inspect test leads and the device for any damage before each use. Do not use if damaged.

  1. Paparan Model: Indicates the device model (MESR-100).

5. Persediaan

5.1 Pemasangan Bateri

The MESR-100 requires two (2) AA 1.5V batteries (not included). To install:

  1. Cari petak bateri di bahagian belakang peranti.

Alternatively, the device can be powered via a Micro USB 5V power supply (not included).

5.2 Connecting Test Clips

Connect the provided test clips to the corresponding positive (red) and negative (black) jacks on the front of the device. For small surface-mount components, use the SMD clip.

6. Arahan Operasi

6.1 Powering On and Zeroing

  1. Tekan ke Suis Kuasa to turn on the device. The display will illuminate.
  2. Before taking any measurements, ensure the test leads are not touching each other or any component.
  3. Tekan ke SIFAR button to calibrate the device. The display should show a reading close to 0.000R. This step is crucial for accurate measurements.

6.2 Mengambil Ukuran

The MESR-100 operates at a measuring frequency of 100KHz, which is ideal for ESR testing.

  1. Ensure the capacitor to be tested is fully discharged.
  2. Connect the test clips to the terminals of the capacitor. For in-circuit testing, ensure the circuit is de-energized.
  3. The ESR value will be displayed on the screen.
  4. Gunakan Julat MOD button if necessary to switch between measurement ranges for optimal precision. The device offers high resolution, up to 0.001 Ohm in the 1 Ohm range.

6.3 Interpreting ESR Readings

The MESR-100 has a printed ESR table on its front panel for quick reference. This table provides standard worst-case ESR values for electrolytic capacitors across various voltages and capacitances. Compare your measured ESR value with the values in the table to assess the capacitor's condition. A significantly higher ESR value than the standard indicates a potentially faulty capacitor.

8. Penyelenggaraan

9. Penyelesaian masalah

9.1 "OL" Reading on Display

If the display shows "OL" (Overflow) during measurement, it indicates that the measured ESR value is outside the device's measurable range or that there is an open circuit.

  • Ensure the test leads are properly connected to the capacitor and the device.
  • Verify that the capacitor is not completely open or damaged beyond the measurement range.
  • Confirm that the device was properly zeroed before measurement.

9.2 Bacaan Tidak Tepat

  • Ensure the device has been zeroed correctly before each measurement.
  • Check battery levels; low batteries can affect accuracy.
  • Ensure good contact between the test clips and the capacitor terminals.
  • Verify the capacitor is fully discharged before testing.
