The Normcore 58.5mm Puck Screen is a reusable metal filter designed to enhance your espresso brewing experience. It is crafted from durable 316 stainless steel, featuring a 1.7mm thickness and 150µm filtration. This tool is engineered to improve water distribution, prevent channeling, and maintain a cleaner brew head.

3. Persediaan

The Normcore 58.5mm Puck Screen is designed for use with 58mm portafilter baskets. Follow these steps for proper setup:

1. Prepare your espresso puck as usual, including grinding, distributing, and tamping the coffee grounds in your portafilter basket.
2. Carefully place the Normcore 58.5mm Puck Screen directly on top of the tamped coffee grounds in the portafilter basket. Ensure it sits flat and centered.
3. Insert the portafilter into your espresso machine's group head as you normally would.

Once the puck screen is in place, operate your espresso machine as you normally would. The puck screen will help to:

• Improve Water Distribution: The fine mesh of the screen ensures water flows more evenly through the coffee puck, leading to a more balanced extraction.
• Prevent Channeling: By creating a uniform barrier, the screen reduces the likelihood of water finding preferential paths through the coffee, which can cause uneven extraction and sour shots.
• Keep Brew Head Clean: The screen acts as a barrier, preventing coffee grounds from sticking to the shower screen of your espresso machine, simplifying cleanup.

Regular cleaning of your Normcore Puck Screen is essential for optimal performance and longevity. The screen is highly durable and corrosion-resistant.

1. After each use, remove the puck screen from the portafilter.
2. Rinse the puck screen thoroughly under running water to remove any coffee residue.
3. For deeper cleaning or if the screen becomes stained, you can use a coffee machine cleaning solution like Cafiza, following the product's instructions. Alternatively, a blast of steam from your espresso machine's steam wand can help dislodge stubborn particles.
4. Allow the screen to air dry or wipe it clean before storing.

• Puck Screen Sticking to Brew Head:
  • This can sometimes happen due to suction. Gently tap the portafilter or use a small tool to dislodge it.
  • Ensure the screen is clean and free of sticky coffee oils.
