5. Persediaan
- Bongkar: Carefully remove the refractometer from its packaging and inspect it for any signs of damage.
- Clean Prism: Ensure the prism surface and daylight plate are clean and dry before first use. Use a soft, lint-free cloth.

For 0% Brix, place a few drops of distilled water on the prism, close the daylight plate, and check the reading. Adjust if necessary according to specific calibration instructions for your model (refer to detailed instructions if a calibration screw is present).
6. Arahan Operasi
- Sediakan Sample: Ensure your liquid sample is well-mixed and free of air bubbles.
- Mohon Sample: Open the daylight plate. Place 2-3 drops of the sample liquid onto the main prism surface. Ensure the prism is fully covered.
- Close Plate: Gently close the daylight plate. This will spread the sample evenly across the prism.
- View bacaan: Hold the refractometer towards a natural light source or a bright lamp. Look through the eyepiece.
- Fokus: If the scale is blurry, rotate the eyepiece to bring the scale into sharp focus.
- Read Value: The Brix value is indicated by the boundary line between the upper blue field and the lower clear field. Read the value where this line intersects the scale.
- Bersihkan Selepas Penggunaan: Immediately after each measurement, open the daylight plate and clean the prism and daylight plate thoroughly with a soft, damp kain. Keringkan sepenuhnya.
7. Penyelenggaraan
- Pembersihan: Always clean the prism and daylight plate immediately after use to prevent sample residue from drying and affecting future readings. Use a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water.
- Storan: Store the refractometer in its protective case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
