2. Persediaan

2.1 Unpacking the Switch

Carefully remove the switch from its packaging. Inspect the contents for any signs of damage. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.

2.2 Pemasangan Fizikal

The Cisco MDS 9148 switch can be installed in a standard 19-inch equipment rack or placed on a desktop. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

2.3 Sambungan Kuasa

Connect the power cord to the power input on the rear of the switch and then to a grounded electrical outlet. The switch will begin its power-on self-test (POST) sequence.

2.4 Sambungan Rangkaian

Connect Fibre Channel cables to the 8Gb Fibre Channel ports. For management access, connect an Ethernet cable to the management port and a console cable to the console port for initial configuration.

3. Arahan Operasi

Access the switch via the console port using a terminal emulator (e.g., PuTTY) with the following settings: 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up basic network parameters, including IP address and administrator credentials.
