1. Pengenalan

The Fieldpiece SPK3 is a versatile dual-temperature thermometer designed for HVACR professionals. It combines a folding rod temperature probe for in-duct measurements with an 8:1 infrared (IR) gun for non-contact surface temperature readings. This device features a convenient flip display, Max/Min, Hold, and T1-T2 functions, and a robust design for field use.

2. Persediaan

2.1 Pemasangan Bateri

1. Cari penutup petak bateri di bahagian belakang unit.
2. Gunakan pemutar skru kecil atau syiling untuk membuka petak bateri.
3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The batteries are included with the device.
4. Gantikan penutup petak bateri dan selamatkannya.

2.2 Kuasa Awal Hidup

Tekan ke HIDUP/MATI button to power on the device. The display will illuminate, and the thermometer will be ready for use.

3. Arahan Operasi

3.1 Operasi Am

• Hidupkan/Mati Kuasa: Tekan ke HIDUP/MATI butang untuk menghidupkan atau mematikan unit.
• Pemilihan Unit: Tekan ke ° C / ° F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
• Lampu latar: The display is backlit for visibility in low-light conditions.

3.2 Folding Rod (ROD) Mode

The folding rod probe is designed for accurate in-duct temperature measurements.

1. Deploying the Probe: Gently unfold the rod probe from the main body of the thermometer. Detents will lock the probe into various open positions, allowing for partial or full extension.
2. In-Duct Measurement: Insert the piercing tip of the rod into the ductwork. The rod hook allows the SPK3 to hang hands-free from registers or ductwork, providing stable readings.
3. Orientasi Paparan: The backlit display automatically flips its orientation when the unit is hung or positioned in ROD mode, ensuring readings are always upright.

3.3 Infrared (IR) Mode

The 8:1 infrared gun provides quick, non-contact surface temperature measurements.

1. Activating IR: Point the infrared sensor (located at the top of the unit) towards the target surface.
2. Pengukuran: Tekan dan tahan butang IR button to take a reading. The temperature will be displayed on the screen. Release the button to hold the reading.
3. Nisbah Jarak ke Tempat: The 8:1 ratio means that at a distance of 8 inches, the measurement spot size is 1 inch. Ensure you are close enough to the target for accurate readings.

3.4 Fungsi Lanjutan

• MAX / MIN: Tekan ke MAX/MIN butang ke view suhu maksimum atau minimum yang direkodkan semasa sesi pengukuran.
• DIBERI: Tekan ke TAHAN button to freeze the current temperature reading on the display. Press again to release.
• T1-T2: The SPK3 can quickly calculate the temperature difference between two readings (T1-T2) using either IR or ROD mode. Refer to the on-screen prompts for specific instructions on using this function.

4. Penyelenggaraan

4.1 Pembersihan

To clean the SPK3, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water. Ensure the infrared lens and probe tip are kept clean for accurate measurements.

4.2 Penggantian Bateri

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the AAA batteries as described in Section 2.1.

4.3 Penyimpanan

When not in use, fold the rod probe back into the body of the thermometer for protection. Store the unit in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

  • Allow sufficient time for the probe to stabilize to the measured temperature.
  • Verify the probe is fully inserted into the measurement area.
• Inaccurate Readings (IR Gun):
  • Ensure the IR lens is clean.
  • Maintain the correct distance-to-spot ratio (8:1).
  • Avoid measuring highly reflective surfaces, as IR thermometers may provide inaccurate readings on such materials.
• Display Not Flipping:
  • Ensure the unit is in ROD mode and positioned appropriately for the automatic flip feature to engage.
