• Move the blade smoothly across the belt, from heel to tip, ensuring the entire edge is sharpened evenly.
• Sharpen both sides of the blade equally to maintain symmetry.

5.2 Using the Abrasive Belt for Grinding

• Turn on the machine using the power switch. Allow the belt to reach full speed.
• For initial grinding or reshaping, use the appropriate abrasive belt zone.
• Carefully bring the blade edge into contact with the moving belt at the desired angle.
• Pass the blade across the belt in smooth, controlled strokes.
• Check the edge frequently to monitor progress and avoid over-grinding.

5.3 Using the Felt Polishing Disc

• After grinding, the felt polishing disc is used to remove burrs and achieve a polished finish.
• Ensure the polishing disc is clean and, if necessary, apply a suitable polishing compound (not included).
• With the machine running, gently bring the blade edge into contact with the rotating felt disc.
• Use very light pressure and smooth movements to polish both sides of the blade.
• This step refines the edge and enhances its sharpness.
