This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Avaya 1408 Digital Deskphone. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to maximize your user experience.

Persediaan

1. Unpacking the Phone

2. Assembling the Desk Stand

Attach the desk stand to the back of the phone unit. Ensure it clicks securely into place. The stand allows for adjustable viewsudut-sudut.

3. Menyambungkan Handset

Connect one end of the coiled handset cord to the handset and the other end to the port labeled with a handset icon on the side of the phone base.

4. Connecting to the Network and Power

The Avaya 1408 Digital Deskphone supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). If your network switch provides PoE, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the phone and the other end to a PoE-enabled network port. The phone will power on automatically.

If PoE is not available, an external power supply (not included) is required. Connect the Ethernet cable to the LAN port and the external power supply to the power port on the phone, then plug the power supply into a wall outlet.

Arahan Operasi

Membuat Panggilan

1. Angkat telefon bimbit atau tekan kekunci Penceramah butang.
2. Dail nombor yang dikehendaki menggunakan papan kekunci.
3. Tekan ke Panggil or dail softkey (if available on screen) or wait for the call to connect automatically.

Menjawab Panggilan

• Apabila telefon berdering, angkat telefon bimbit atau tekan butang Penceramah butang untuk menjawab dalam mod pembesar suara telefon.
• Alternatively, press the flashing line button associated with the incoming call.

Menamatkan Panggilan

• Place the handset back in the cradle.
• If using speakerphone, press the Penceramah butang sekali lagi atau Tamatkan Panggilan kekunci lembut.

Kawalan Kelantangan

Gunakan Kelantangan buttons (up/down arrows) on the phone to adjust the handset, speakerphone, or ringer volume during a call or when idle.

Fungsi Redam

Tekan ke bisu butang untuk membisukan mikrofon anda semasa panggilan. Tekan sekali lagi untuk membisukan.

Fungsi Tahan

Semasa panggilan aktif, tekan tahan button to place the call on hold. Press the flashing line button or the tahan button again to retrieve the call.

Conference Calls (3-Way)

1. Semasa dalam panggilan aktif, tekan butang Persidangan button (or a softkey labeled Conf). The first call will be placed on hold.
2. Dial the number of the second party.
3. Setelah pihak kedua menjawab, tekan Persidangan button again to join all three parties.

ID pemanggil

The phone's display will show the incoming caller's number and name (if available) for incoming calls.

Operasi Berbilang Baris

The Avaya 1408 supports multiline operation, allowing you to manage multiple calls simultaneously using the dedicated line buttons on the phone.

Digital Answering System / Voicemail

The phone features a digital answering system with a recording capacity of up to 18 minutes. Access voicemail by pressing the Mesej button or following your system administrator's instructions.

• Disconnect the phone from its power source before cleaning.

Menyelesaikan masalah

No Dial Tone / Phone Not Powering On

• Semak Kuasa: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to a PoE-enabled port or that the external power adapter (if used) is properly connected and plugged into a working outlet.
• Sambungan Kabel: Verify that all cables (handset, Ethernet) are firmly plugged into their respective ports.
• Status Rangkaian: Confirm that your network connection is active and functioning.

Cannot Hear or Be Heard During a Call

• Pelarasan Kelantangan: Laraskan kelantangan menggunakan Kelantangan butang.
• Fungsi Redam: Semak sama ada bisu button is active (often indicated by an LED). Press it to unmute.
• Sambungan Telefon Bimbit: Pastikan kord telefon bimbit disambungkan dengan kukuh pada kedua-dua telefon bimbit dan tapak telefon.
• Mod fon pembesar suara: If using speakerphone, ensure the Penceramah butang dinyalakan.

Isu Paparan

• Kontras: Some models may have display contrast settings in the menu. Consult your system administrator if issues persist.
